Katya Danziger — Designer, Theorist

Hello! My name is Katya Danziger. I am a Russian-American working at the intersection of design, ethics, and global systems.  I’m interested in how design can inform humanitarian policy and responsible tech.  Ultimately, I find purpose in studying compassion-driven problem solving and finding ways to humanize emerging technology.

I am currently a graduate student at Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in the Global Thought MA program (offered by The Committee on Global Thought). In my research, I explore interdisciplinary frameworks to inform collaborative, design-based responses to global challenges. I write about these ideas and other systems design concepts on my blog.

I completed a self-designed degree in Creative Technology and Ethics at the School of Design Strategies @ Parsons School of Design, where I explored how design can serve as a tool for social transformation. My design work has been exibited at the CICA Museum in South Korea and The Untitled Space Gallery in New York City, as well as in print in DROME Magazine and Untitled Magazine. Alongside my studies, I spent four years deeply engaged in Buddhist practice and service through a global meditation nonprofit—a journey that profoundly shaped my understanding of wisdom-based leadership and the power of compassionate action.
